Memorial Day has come and gone, unoffically marking the start of summer and as we get closer to the summer solstice on the 21, and the “offical” start of summer our minds are filling with thoughts of outdoor adventures. We do rent apartments dc so why not take advantage of the wonderful outdoor ammenities the Capital has to offer? Such as the United States Botanic Garden.
As the oldest, continually open, botanical garden in North America the United States Botanic Garden is the perfect place to kick start a summer of adventures. Not only is it open 365 days out of the year there are daily guided tours to help give you a more educational visit.
This time of the year there many bright and colorful flowers blooming that shouldn’t be missed!
If you’re looking for something other than a stroll through the garden, there are also frequent events and guest lectures to spark you curiosity.
If I may suggest one, tomorrow from 12pm -1pm there will be “Bringing Meadowscaping to Big and Small Spaces a lecture on Meadowscaping, as a great alternative to the traditional grass lawn. It’s a free lecture, but you must pre-register, which I highly suggest you do tonight.
