“This is one of the first things I show newcomers to DC. It’s one of those freaky things that everyone knows about but doesn’t believe it until they’re right in front of them looking at them. I have to put Exorcist up there as THE top horror movie of all time (it still gives me the heebie jeebies to this day) and to know that it was a real account (although it was a teenaged boy in MD instead of a pre-teen girl in Georgetown) adds more to the “Oh My Goodness!” factor of this landmark. To me, it’s the only worthwhile spot to visit in Georgetown. There’s nothing like going there on a dark night in the fall, especially around Halloween, and daring someone to go up or down them.
